AND THE WINNER IS...

The results for the FAREWELL TO SUMMER PHOTO CONTEST are in!  I cannot believe how close the voting was.  Over 300 votes were submitted, yet the top photos were separated by only one vote each!  Congratulations to the winning image, number 12, for winning such a tight contest!  Look for your $50 Shutterfly gift card to arrive in your email inbox soon.

Which such a close contest, I am revealing the winners of 2nd and 3rd place as well.  I am also including the meanings behind the photographs, as sometimes, these are just as important as the actual captured image.  Keep scrolling and find out why the entries were so meaningful to the person who submitted them.

A big THANK YOU goes out to everyone who sent in pictures.  Congratulations to you all for getting such great shots!  Keep those cameras nearby and savor every last minute of the summer!

1st PLACE
This winning photo was submitted by Angela Killinger, and this is what she has to say about her favorite photograph from this summer.  "I love it because my daughter is so adorable all bundled up in her protective gear!  Most kids would complain…but she just dances it off!  Gotta love that!"

Congratulations to both Angela and her daughter, who with this shot have shown how water safety can be hip, cool, and extremely fashionable!

2nd PLACE
This photograph was submitted by Allison Lantieri.

The precision with your camera and the amount of detail you were able to capture in the image are amazing.  Congratulations on getting such a cool shot!

3rd PLACE
The above image was submitted by Virginia Gaines Senn.  In this photograph, she captured her son fishing on the Potomac River in Washington DC.  She wrote, "We spent our summer vacation visiting my son who is serving in the U.S. Navy. He is stationed in Washington, D.C. at Bolling Air Force Base and this picture was taken at his ‘favorite spot' on base where he spends most of his free time like this - fishing on the Potomac. I love this picture because it is so peaceful and such a contrast to his day to day life."

Congratulations Virginia on capturing not only a great image, but for also capturing the "heart and soul" of a moment!
