A Busy Fall

Who would think fall would be the busiest time for photographers?  For the past two years, fall is definitely the time of year that I personally stay busiest.  This fall in particular, I participated in two charity shoots, one fall portrait promotion, had a wedding on the books, booked another, as well as made arrangements for an upcoming location engagement shoot...all in just a few weeks.  Between shooting, editing, ordering and making travel arrangements, the blog has fallen a little behind!  But, I'm catching up, and finally, I have a chance to share with you some highlights from one of the charity shoots.  Check back throughout the week for highlights from different families that were able to participate in the event!

Kids are always a fun subject to photograph.  You never know how it's going to go.  But you can count on always capturing lots of personality!

All the little girls loved playing with the tea set the hostess of the charity event had set up for them.  As for the boys of the day (below), give them a ball...and they really start to shine for the camera!

As a photographer, I prefer to have a fun, upbeat and casual approach.  The way I see it, If I succeed in allowing kids to feel comfortable, play with a football, and just be themselves...not only can I capture who they really "are" at that time in their lives, but then I'm much more likely to capture the "framers" that their parents and grandparents want for the coffee table!
